Two Best Men Speech

Two best men, one speech, no awkward overlap

Written as a proper double act: the material split between you, and every line marked so you each know your cue.

Why this speech is hard, and how we make it easy

Two best men is still rare enough to be a talking point, and that is your opening gift. The real risk is the two of you telling the same story twice, or one of you carrying it while the other just stands there. We solve both. Your stories get divided so nothing repeats, the thank-yous and the toast get shared out, and the whole thing is written to bounce between you and land a joint toast at the end. We even mark who says each line.

The structure we write to
  1. 01Open together and own the novelty: both introduce yourselves, and get one line of banter in about there being two of you, so the room knows it is a double act from the first breath.
  2. 02Give it a spine: link your two halves with a running theme or a clean handover, so it feels like one speech, not two stapled together.
  3. 03Divide the formalities: one of you handles the early thank-yous, the other keeps the toast for the end.
  4. 04Alternate in short chunks, roughly four each, so you keep bouncing and never double up. Each story belongs to one speaker only.
  5. 05Hand the sincere passage to one voice while the other steps back, then come back together for a short, confident joint toast to the couple.

This is the exact structure your speech is written to, filled with your stories, in your tone.

About ten minutes, and it costs nothing: who you are, who it is about, your best stories, and the tone you want. No writing skill needed, just the truth.

Your speech gets written from those answers straight away. You land on a private page showing the real opening, not a sample and not somebody else's.

FAQ

Two Best Men speech questions

How long should a two best men speech be?
Longer than a solo speech, because there are two of you, but not double it. Aim for the longer length (around eight to ten minutes between you) and keep it moving by trading the speech in short chunks. A joint speech that drags is the one risk unique to doing it as a pair.
How do we avoid telling the same story twice?
That is the number one two-best-men trap, and it is exactly what the questionnaire prevents. You give us your stories once, between you, and we divide them so each story belongs to one speaker. Nothing gets repeated, and nobody is left with the leftovers.
Will we know who says what?
Yes. The speech comes back with every part labelled by name, so you can read down and see which lines are yours, where you hand over, and where you speak together. Read it out loud a couple of times and it runs itself.
